  • Just finished doing a little research and those who have been asking - NO Fennel leaves are not similar to Shoptsa - Fenugreek leaves. Although it seems that fennel is now used as a spice in Sichuan cooking? I don't know if it is true or just a translation mistake. Fennel is west and Fenugreek is east.

  • It is dried fennel leaves - used in Sichuan dishes.

My Tibetan friend, who is giving me the cooking lesson, thinks it makes the tigmo too sweet. Sorry purists, but I love it. Sorry again, I have been known to even add cardomon to the dough.
