  • BRAVI TUTTI!

  • stunning

  • Nice memories. I saw them together many times (what a handsome stage couple & what great voices) in TOSCA, ADRIANA, BOHEME & GIOCONDA.

  • @aaroncaruso

Many singers have to find their way by themself, so did Corelli. Tebaldi instead found a great teacher like Carmen Melis, one of Puccini's favourite sopranos. Tebaldi said all she knew about Opera was from her teacher Carmen Melis.

  • @goldie0800 They were the best looking couple - Both tall and good looking with powerful voices.

Italian bite in their singing - they sand with passion.

  • @tebaldicallas - Perhaps for some Corelli's voice might not seem precise or impeccable but his gifts as a tenor were abundantly obvious, exuberant and overflowing with a wealth of emotion. What more can one ask for in grand opera than such a grand voice as Corelli's! His singing touches the heart, so my cup is filled.

    - from an obvious fan of Corelli.

  • you can.t get much better than this!!!

  • @johngotwalt I dont think that is entirely true. He did work with Lauri-Volpi and possibly briefly with Melocchi. At the end of the day, arent all singers self taught, though? They say the stage is the best teacher. Cheers.

  • Stratas was no slouch either. The 1982 Carreras Stratas Boheme directed by Zef at the met is my absolute favorite.

  • I love Corelli but Tebaldi was a more refined singer.
