In this video I demonstrate the power of Content-Aware Scaling. It allows you to stretch an image whilst keeping precious content (e.g. people) unharmed.
I stretch an image of a river, a boat and some trees using both the free transformation tool and using content-aware scaling.
It is a very powerful tool that will be very useful if eg. you needed a portrait photograph to be in landscape format.
My only criticism is that if you protect the person in the boat then everything else looks terrible. They should develop something where everything looks good. Right now it is just moving one thing and free-transforming the rest.

@luna5632 Watch my erasing the background video, once you have the little white and black lines selection go to the selections menu up at the top and save your selection.

@kayleighlief You can make a selection as you normally do.
To make this video quicker, I created the selection earlier and saved it as personinriver.
Select>Save Selection
If you need me to explain it better just ask.
