Warrior of Light(100) vs Tidus(105)
Alright, this video, is probably one of my longest video yet! But I am not surprise, this is the very first time I fought a level 105 Tidus and needed some time to analyze his skills x_x. Apparently Tidus wield a set of equipment giving him a boost of 50% Bravery, which takes a longer time to break. And I've zero idea why Warrior of Light's attack is that low, even though his weapon may be at level 60 and below, it is almost ridiculous how he manage to deal 7 on a critical attack. Nevertheless, I assume that Tidus is having a Cautious behaviour, for he seems to like standing there, waiting for me to execute a move before he do anything, but most of the time, I just wait till he attack first
My Warrior of Light uses the similar speed training method, and he only have AP enough for Counterattack and Riposte, which I can only exploit when Tidus make a move.
Anyways, a few tips for all of the people having difficulties fighting Tidus, remember to keep a safe distance from him. His attacks are all sneaky, which mostly consist of a backflip that can be use to dodge attacks, and charges in for a hit afterwards. In Difficulty Nine, most CPU would choose to do Riposte, Counterattack or Sneak Attack, so they probably wouldn't attack first. In my opinion to deal some good damage to Tidus is to use a long range attack to tease him into dodging and counterattacking you. But remember, once you uses your range attack, defend right afterwards. But obviously don't do it when a HP Attack is executed. You can use my video from (0.45 - 0.49 and 1.30 - 1.32 ) as a reference on how to tease him into attacking you, after defending, strike him with a skill that deals more damage.(Activate Riposte for best effects.) In the case that you successfully done the trick, remember to jump a few steps back to keep a safe distance once more. But in my case, the Warrior of Light's skill have the ability to push the opponent further away, therefore if you have a skill that can push Tidus away, why not? I personally would prefer safe than damage.
In addition to Tidus backflip, it acts with an effect that mostly lure people to block or dodge around that time, but when the true attack sets in, it'd be too late to do anything, so observe his actions from a distance before Counterattacking him or anything.
Tidus' HP Attack are also quite badass, all of um' can travel quite some distance(Eg, Slice and Dice / Spiral Cut / Jecht Shot / Quick Cut(?)) and deal a good amount of hit(All of his HP Attacks are like that, if I am not wrong.) before unleashing the final blow.
But a side effect to this, is that some HP Attacks start fast(Slice and Dice, Energy Rain ) but ends slow when misses. Like how all of us are mostly amuse when Tidus go,' Whoa, whoa, whoa,' after missing his Energy Rain. It's a great opportunity to attack around that time for it'd still be counted as Counterattack giving some critical damage.( 0.32 - 0.35 , 0.56 - 0.59 , 1.13 - 1.16) While others like Jecht Shot starts slow, the attack is pretty fast but the 'cool down' would slow him down again. ( 1.49 - 1.52 ) so don't be afraid to go near him when it says,' Jecht Shot ' on the screen. It's a great chance to attack.
Plus, his skills may travel for a distance, but they are still mid range after all. Apart from Slice and Dice, you could easily run away from most of them if you do not wish to risk your Bravery/HP. ( Follow the timing before as a reference if you need. )
And if you want to attain 'no damage taken', the requirements is pretty simple and it applies over all characters,' defend when neccessary, attack when needed and keep a distance from your opponent,' doesn't really help, but it's kinda true. =P
Lastly, I strain the point of watching out for Tidus' Bravery Attacks, they are all really sneaky with the backflip luring people to defend or dodge before the attack really come out. People in Difficulty Nine love running dangerously close to you. But remember, just because they are running, doesn't mean they can't dodge/block/attack. Therefore, I'd like playing safe by running away from him ( 1.42 - 1.49 ) They also like blocking out of random to taunt you into doing some stupid stunt, remember to be careful and watch closely. For all people which aims to attain ' No Damage Taken ' when fighting Tidus, REMEMBER to look out for his skill at (0.42 - 0.43) that's why never let him get too close to you, the attack is swift and hard to defend against and the movements to the skill is very slight so people wouldn't notice when he have even start using it. Hmm, that's about it.
=P I hope this 'word tutorial' helps. x_x
Enjoy! ^____^ Oh yeah, for people which thinks there are tips against Tidus which I didn't write, feel free to type it on the comment section below. =)
