From http://busproject.org: Farm to school and school garden programs connect schools with local farms for the purpose of investing state dollars in local agriculture and improving kids' health.

Oregon House Bill 2800 creates a competitive grant program to allocate $2 million to schools around the state. The awarded grant money will reimburse schools for purchasing food produced or packed in Oregon as well as school garden activities.

  • Your using children...

  • Farm to School is an excellent concept and I whole heartedly support it, but why did you have to show the children drinking chocolate milk? That particular brand contains sugar and high fructose corn syrup which are the two major causes of tooth decay and contribute to the current onset of type 2 juvenile diabetes. Farm to School promises so much in local, fresh, healthy choices for our kids, let's not spoil it with the offering of chocolate milk. Their parents can buy that if they choose.
