it was closed not because there are not enough surfers in japan (cuz there definitely is) it was closed cuz the thing was huge and the pumps and stuff cost way to much.

i think it closed down because they werent making enough money because japanese people don't surf that much

Yes, unfortunately the Dome was closed officially on October 2007 :(

at first you had to pay an extra fee to surf, later they made it a show, where everyone had to exit the water and no one was able to surf.
