  • Guys, gotta severely disagree on this one. While not a plot driven masterpiece like CASH AND CARRY, I think there's a lot of great slapstick in this one. Anytime the boys and tools go together, you get good results. My favorite bit is Moe chasing Larry around after Larry gets a few shots in (!), only to have them constantly mess up Curly's concrete. Great Curly reactions in that part.

The blonde from the three wives was Ted Healy's sister Marcia and I will agree with you guys about the end.

  • I'm with metaldams. This is a very good Stooge short. Stooges, tools, and construction are usually a good mix and this short is no exception. Curly and the cement stands out as something that was cleverly done.

Sit down strikes were a big deal in 1937. The Flint Sit-Down Strike (auto workers) was especially newsworthy at the time. This short was filmed in May 1937, not long after the strike ended. The historical context may add something to the short.
