ARRANGEMENT AND ADAPTION
In the original form, Pipeline's main parts are performed by keyboard, sax and orchestra, making this instrumental quite like a movie soundtrack and so very cinematic. I synthesized them in a piano arrangement, so you can either watch this video imagining nature vs technology, or simply observing the music through the dance of the piano's hammers and keys. I opened the piano also to get a more full sound.
Projectologists will notice that I replaced the finale with an additional "chorus" followed by a personal "verse" featuring my variations. I think this is in the right spirit, since the original sax parts were a sessionist's improvisation (recorded in a single take!), which added to this symphonic rock piece an interesting jazz/fusion contamination.
