I sat there, tears rolling down my face that MM had written a song about killing his wife, the mother of his child and then making her his accomplice and that song made MONEY for him. Sick, sick, sick. Tori put him in his place and MM knows that.

this "song" is sickening and Tori Amos elevated it to a place where people wouldn't be dancing, playing air drums or be laughing or agreeing or thinking it was "cool" that he used his own daughter's voice in his version. I was at 4 of the concerts where Tori performed this and the way the lights were flashing and she would go from looking beautiful to menacing to a skeleton (this was achieved with a big silk screen banner) rotating through these three images as the crowd went crazy.

That being said, the two play off of each other and I think neither is better than the other because of that.

Having listened to this album (and his others) around 13ish and then hearing the Tori version nearly a decade later, I'd have to say that it's impossible to really "get" it without being used to the original first. If you hear the Tori version first, it's a creepy song that trumps the original in its creepiness (duh.). But if you were bobbing your head along to this for a few years and then hear what Tori has to say about it, it really hits you because you never noticed how messed up it is.
