***EDITOR'S NOTE: The first left turn and the ending point of the course are incorrect. Parts of the course have not yet been built and regular traffic could not drive through certain areas. We are working on a fix. Thank you to our readers who have pointed out this error.***

New Jersey will host its first-ever Formula One Grand Prix in June 2013. To show what the racetrack looks from the driver's seat, Star-Ledger columnist Mark DiIonno drives the proposed 3.2-mile course that spans the waterfront of Weehawken and West New York.

  • Wow, those property values just shot up tend fold. Not as posh looking as the historical vistas of Monte Carlo but it's got its own charms.

  • Now here's the excuse to enter Chevy as a constructor or even Ford? Either way, I'm gonna be there!!!!!

  • @spankywonderland Not as Monaco, you could see some good overtaking spots here, plus it got some wider areas. I'd agree on the safety bit.

That downward sweeper reminds me on big willow, they're gonna need some decent downforce otherwise losing traction will send them flying. I'd say the track aint bad considering the long straights and corners with changes in elevation. They'll need to sort out the bumpy road tho

  • Looking forward to see some American teams and Drivers join the F1 parade. I doubt lots of U.S. fans will want to attend unless this happens.

  • great video man, many thanks for sharing, cool commentary too :)

  • I drive this way to Mitsuwa all the time, hard to believe F1 cars will be racing these streets. LOVE to have a place here.

  • If this is a go I would be there in a heart beat!

  • Looks good, certainly a lot wider than Monaco.

  • ...Ouch...they seem to have a lot of work to do...smells allmost like a hoax...It's tight. It looks even worse than Monaco. Well....let's see. I doesn't look very safe anyway...

There's no space for overtaking, no space for audience...

    I'm surely wrong.
