CUSpaceflight launch of stratospheric experiments in their outreach competition took place at Churchill college sports grounds on June 10th 2009. It was a typical english day, dark skies and plenty of rain. Unfortunately the winds carried our experiments into the sea and this gives us the opportunity for another launch a little later into the summer.

  • My experiment was on that :) (KEVICC spaceflight team (Y) ) Shame about the whole landing in the sea, we put a lot of effort in :( Ahh well willl have another go I guess. Great video x

  • It was such an amazing experience and definitely looking forward to the next launch! Try and be there - you'll really enjoy it. :)

    What was your experiment about?

  • nice lauch :P how did the experiment go?

  • Unfortunately the experiment landed somewhere in the North Sea and eventually the tracking system was lost.

Still hoping, that when it is washed ashore whoever finds it contacts the Cambridge University spaceflight Team.

  • Thanks for the video! Hopefully the next flight attempt should have a drier ending.

    Henry (CU Spaceflight)

  • It was our pleasure and now looking forward to the next launch!

  • Ours had UV sensors, a camera, an altimeter, infra-red sensors etc etc We were exploring the effects and quatities of UV and Infra red, also the images would have been rather cool, ah well. can't wait to have another go. Really want to be at the launch next time :)

    Did you have an experiment?
