i'VE USED A hh coil on a 1266-x several years ago and it had good depth--it was another fellow's and he let me use it a while on a hunt we did together--didn't find much but that coil was super deep going--KELLYCO used to sell those coils
The thing you thought was a filter is correct, it was put on the end of a hose and thrown into a body of water the other end was put on a water pump the ribs around it act as a filter to keep it from clogging.
The 2 parts you found are from an old Ford tractor either an 2N, 8N, or 9N tractor. The bowl shaped on is a cover for the grease for the wheel. The other is a radiator cap.
