Oh yeah... you couldn't tell me jack when I was young. LOL I was actually pretty wised up by the time I had the Valiant -- in fact, that's WHY I had the valiant. I'd had fun, quirky cars before... and they were ultimately a huge pain in the neck. Or someplace. LOL

Truck Engine? Pfffft. First time I've ever heard that.
It was designed from the get-go as an economy passenger car engine, laid over 30 degrees so the new economy small car (the Q-Series Valiant) could have a low bonnet (hood) line, and originally had a capacity of 170 cubic inches.
The AT-2 truck variant came in the later 225 RG block.

@PiDsPagePrototypes -- Interesting. I had read in several places that the engine was a redesign of an existing (full upright) truck/tractor engine, but obviously substantially redesigned and slanted to fit under the hood of then-modern low profile sedans. I'll see if I can't get more info. Thanks for the input!
