  • Why would you not want to use your arms in the water? Are you not aware that part of water aerobics is getting the heart rate up by using the drag of the water with your arms. Also, you need to be careful when kicking backwards that you lean forward when kicking backwards in order to keep from arching the back. With the arms in this position, it is difficult to lean forward.
