Me messing around with my custom sword for no real reason. This was kind of random, so there's no real structure to the moves, just a general idea of keeping the blade moving for dramatic effect. One of these days I'll need to find some place that actually teaches the longsword.

Interesting to hote, though, is how well this beast handles in one hand. The smith, John Lundemo (www.odinblades.com) does wonders with steel, and it feels perfectly balanced.

  • sword looks cool, but dancing with it is abit childish.

  • Childish, but fun. At least when done with nothing breakable around (including people). And yes, John does some amazing work.

  • Pretty nice. I was thinking about saving up my money and getting a costum sword by odinblades. It seems like they handle pretty well. How well do they stand up to heavy cutting? Such as tatami, etc.

  • Haven't done any heavy cutting with this guy, just water bottles and milk jugs.

My technique is certainly far from perfect, but this sword can sail through targets without me even feeling it. For stats:

    OAL: 43"

    Blade Length: 30"

    COB: 3" from the hilt

It balances well and can be used without much difficulty in one hand. John does excellent work, and I'd recommend him as long as you have the patience to get in the waiting list.

  • I have a sword John made me some time ago (nick named "draug carak") and if you google "draug carak odin blades" you can find pictures of it on deviantart and swordforum...no longer on SFI though since my banning.

I am sending mine back in for a little R&R, new wood core scabbard...John is a great friend, if i'm in the area I know I have a place to go :)

  • I wanted a Vic Aslemo sword by him but 30k... o u c h..

  • Sweet....I didn't realize any of John's swords had made it onto Youtube. Can you direct me to any photos of yours? I'm not sure I recognize it.
