Creating flower bouquets can be a fun way of indulging in your creative ideas. In this video, Pottery Barn expert, Nico De Swert, demonstrates some easy ways of making flower bouquets at home.
If you want to add more texture and volume to your floral decoration, Nico suggests adding left over stems to the bouquet. Another way of creating a beautiful floral decoration is by using terrariums. Making a terrarium at home is quite simple. Nico uses a large Pottery Barn glass jar and adds rich organic soil and foliage to make a beautiful floral decoration piece.
Talk of bouquets and who can forget the beauty of a hand-tied bouquet. To make a hand-tied bouquet, Nico suggests arranging flower stems in a spiral pattern. The hand-tied bouquets should be placed in an oversized glass vessel with some river stones at its base for a beautiful visual effect.
Decorating a candlestick with flowers is another creative way of using floral decor. To do this, Nico uses floral foam and secures a candle in the centre. In the next step, he arranges flower buds and greens to the foam to create a beautiful floral centerpiece. For those who love to use hydrangeas, Nico recommends cutting the stem short and floating them in water for a beautiful effect.
To make your silk flowers look more attractive, Nico suggests adding some real foliage. Use vintage baskets from the Pottery Barn collection to lend the silk flowers a touch of true elegance.
