washdown=simply water and a drain. large drain because, well, there's no good reason to make it smaller. the simplest design for a toilet (except a shelf toilet)

siphonic=water and a complex drain that causes the water to siphon, pulling the matter through either a vortex, a waterfall efect , or a single blowout water jet flushing action. the only thing that Caromas aren't good at compared to siphon toilets is bowl rinse. the trap design separates the two

@caverron Exactly, they sell them everywhere else in the world: USA, Canada, United Kingdom, but they're not available in Australia despite the fact it is now the most obese nation in the world!

New Zealand has had these toilets since the late 70s and has never used the type of toilet that USA has in most of there homes. I gees means USA is catching up with the rest of the world. LOL
