  • Hah! Nicely done, I'm currently halfway through Unseen Academicals atm. I admit though, I never even knew who Terry Pratchett was until about 5-6 years ago. Shocking I know, but I'm an american and you can't get a good discworld novel over here for love nor money.

  • You can you just have to search alot harder than we do for them which is a shame. The big problem I found when I was in America over Christmas is that you get the most vile repulsive covers and for that I do feel sorry for you. Im part way through Unseen Academicals as well, so far I wouldn't say its up there but its not as bad as the only book I've not been able to finish (Monstorous Regiment)

  • Intresting start to the review destructionsnakepit

I'm I big Terry Pratchett fan It was one of the first books I ever read I tey to read at least one of his books every month. what happens to be your fave book and character?

Reaper man is my fave book and I like Nanny Ogg.

    keep up the good reviews

    Iluvater.

  • My appolologies for my appauling replying efforts. The last few months have been really tough and I struggled to reply to comments left for me. Naming just one favourite book and character is practically impossible. I love so many for many different reasons. Guards Guards! and Hogfather are two of my absolute favourites along with Thief of time. For characters Susan, Lu Tze, Carrot, Nobby and CMOT Dibbler are but a handful who I absolutely adore

  • Hey Pred,

I adore the "Death" Discworld books, and Reaper Man is right up there as one of my faves. One of the problems I had with the Hogfather adaptation was that, if you didn't know anything about the books, you'd have absolutely no idea what was going on; some of the weirder elements weren't communicated very concisely. The Cosgrove Hall adaptations did a much better job with Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters, IMO. Nice synopsis of the story; looking forward to the rest!

    George

  • Yeah I can see that if your not familiar with the series Hogfather the adaptation could be confusing. As a fan though I absolutely loved it, more than I can say I did The Colour of Magic/ The Light Fantastic which took some time to grow on me. The Cosgrove Hall cartoon of Soul Music is what got me into DW. I've not seen Wyrd Sisters as I wqas unsure if I'd like how they portraid Granny but after seeing an amateur production of Maskerade im curious about how it looks

  • Nah, Bill Gates never happened.

  • @destructionsnakepit I live in the states and never had too much of a hard time finding Terry's books well at least in the bookstore, the local libraries on the other hand is a different story, of course it's hard to find alot of authors there. But yeah we do get shitty covers here but that's due to the current US publisher Harper Collins press, the previous US publisher Roc had similar covers to the UK versions, who always do shite covers for UK books, like LOTR and Hitchhicker's guide.

  • I think they are adapting Going Postal next. Im not sure who is playing Moist but I know David Jason isn't involved in this one. And yeah I agree Christopher Lee as Death is perfect

  • I'll see what I can do mate. Im a huge fan if you haven't noticed so I cant see why I wouldn't review more

  • YES! Fuck yes! original content! i wants me some more Pratchet reviews. I love the Death/Witches books.
