Four Key Pledges

Stephen Williams outlines the Liberal Democrats' four key election pledges, which form the core of the Party's manifesto.

The Liberal Democrats are the only Party advocating real change, a change for good, not just an illusion of change that in reality only benefits the few. At the heart of the manifesto are these four key pledges to creating a fairer society:

1) Fair taxes - to reduce the equality gap and make things easier for those on low and modest incomes by closing tax loopholes used by the rich.

2) Fair start - to ensure equality in our education system by providing extra funding for disadvantaged schools and pupils who are struggling.

3) Fair future - to protect jobs, stabilise the economy and invest in a green future.

4) Fair politics - including a fair voting system and elected House of Lords to create an open, transparent and accountable Parliament.
