I disagree mate. Rev2 turbos put out a lot more torque than Rev3s. Get a 300bhp of each and the Rev2 will hit 280lbft whereas the Rev3 will be around 260lbft. And torque equals acceleration. I agree the Rev3+ 3SGTE is the better engine, but put the ct20b in a rev2, raise the boost to 13psi (as per a stock rev3) and you won't see any real difference between the two.

If they are both turbo versions how come the GT doesn have fog lights? Hard to believe 18hp more will make such a big difference.

what is number best motoring this video?
Isen't the GT the na and the GT-S the turbo. I have a gen 3 swapped '91 and the clip had the GT emblem on it but it was the gen 3 turbo engine and lsd trans. We figured the car had to have been swapped in japan before having been shipped to the states, confusing, lol.

@TheOmegaeyes Both GT and GT-S are the turbo versions in stock trim. The N/A model is called the G-Limited or G. so your clip with the GT emblem is just a regular stock turbo.

@youngweezy11 Then what differentiates the GT from the GT-S? If they are comparing gen2 to gen3 turbo then it makes sense but I was thinking this was turbo vs. na. If the GT and GT-S are both turbo then this must be 3sgte ct26 vs. 3sgte ct20b correct? I'm still not clear, lol.

@TheOmegaeyes . The MR2 in Japan was sold as either a GT-S or GT, the GT having a higher equipment specification.
The GT-S has cloth trim, and GT has leather/ suede trim and extra features such as full climate control rather than normal air-conditioning.
