How Much Ethanol / E85 is in your car's gas tank? This gauge can tell you

I filled up on 12.4 gallons of E85 in my 14 gallon tank. I previously had 1.6 gallons of 91 octane in the tank. The Zeitronix ECA shows how much ethanol is now in my tank.


The Zeitronix Ethanol Content Analyzer display provides real time readouts of fuel ethanol content and fuel temperature. Two analog outputs, ethanol percentage and fuel temperature, are provided for datalogging and engine management system use. The ethanol content of E85 fuel can vary from 60% to 92% ethanol. A fill up with E85 can drastically change the mix of fuel in your vehicle. For performance drivers determining actual ethanol content of E85 is essential to maximizing an engine tune and horsepower.

**Note, my camera makes the gauge's lights flicker. In person the lights on the gauge do not flicker.

i put E85 into my Fiat Tipo without modification. First i drove 300km with it but now it wont start :(

@DutyCycle555 Drain the E85 out of the car and try filling up again with regular gasoline.

If you just put E85 into the car without tuning, most likely the car won't even start. You need to have the car tuned specifically for the fuel.

@zoneracer if you own an Evo and live in SoCal, talk to Road Race Engineering. If you own a Subaru, talk to one of the local subaru tuner shops.

Don't forget that he had 91 octane gasoline in there. That would seriously dilute his mixture. The best way to circulate it, btw, is to put the car on ACC 5-6 times to let the fuel pump circulate the fuel. Revving the gas doesn't do much.
