  • I mean that fundamental assumptions of this women are fucked.....she doesnt get one very important thing......

  • prop up a dictator of 170 million.....try it i would like to see them try it and

then wait 20 years and see what happens......

  • They can never fully stablize pakistan without representation.........ie democracy.......let them try to do it.....and see what happens.......wait 20 years if thats the theory......

  • It's sad that Americans champion freedom and insitution building at home but want Pakistanis to be ruled by an illiterate dictator like Musharraf who is ridiculed in the world. Why are we ranked 7th most corrupt (Transparency Intl) and failed state despite billions of US aid. The Americans don't care about Pakistani people- only their own goals.

  • tokyo "ko" is a fucking moron

  • I thought that KO was much too easy on her, on this very point--she was saying that the US needed "strong" and "stable" allies to force US interests on unwilling populations--just as US support for dictators in Latin America, Iran, and elsewhere, made the US hated around the world, and allowed the Soviet Union to present itself as being for the people of those dictatorships.

  • nothing makes sense anymore.

  • Ms Leverette's 'priority' advice is incorrect. If US continues to pursue its self-serving interest by propping 1 man dictator Musharraf ('ally' in the war against terrorism) it will be at the cost of causing immeasurable upsurge in anti-American sentiment in a country with 160 million muslim population. America can make far more friends rather by investing in true Democracy in Pakistan. By supporting a tyrant it risks turning them into foes
