There are many who believe that all you have to do is like Joel Osteen, tell God you're sorry for your "mistakes", and forgive yourself for letting your self-esteem go like it has, but this message is woefully different from the one John the Baptist came preaching. The word "repent" is obviously neglected from use in the modern "church," and I believe it is because if it were preached, the modern "church" wouldn't be quite the same as what it is with all these people turning from their ways and all. In other words, if you turn from your ways, you don't go the same same ones.

This is part of a sermon by Mark Kielar. You can find more messages from him at http://www.firstboynton.com

  • I saw at Target a book by Joel Osteen. It wasnt "Your best life now", but something even worse. It was called "How to be happy 7 days a week". Hope Osteen doesnt believe in hell. Idk how anyone that has read the Scripture with a contrite heart, to come up with garbage that he does. And i would be terrified of God's Judgment. But Paul wasnt lying when he said 2 Timothy 4.

  • where can I find videos of his sermons? I can't find anything on his website or a podcast anywhere!

  • @alexmaxis17 AMEN

  • I think the guy that's preaching here touched on a vital problem with the modern day church. No matter how we try to twist it with our fancy words and absurd new doctrines, the bible makes it clear. John the Baptist did not come preaching about how to raise your self ego. He came preaching to a people that rejected God (once again), and told them that it was time to repent. I really wish i could hear more preachers preach against sin and help us turn our eyes back to the basics of God's word.

  • John did not preach the gospel of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No Jew who came for Baptism believed in the death of Christ. Christ also in Matt 4 speaking repent was kingdom preaching. Jesus mentioned nothing of His death and resurrection. No disciple who went out preaching (the seventy) believed in the death of Christ LK18:24 they did not understand His being crucified. Neither John or Jesus had yet preached the gospel for the Church age (grace) John preached works not grace.

  • @bigritchie Peter equated the writings of Paul to be equal with the rest of Scripture. To equate the writings of Peter with the works of pagan sun worshippers is to call Peter a liar and to make the rest of Scripture a lie too, and to call the Holy Spirit who inspired all of them false too. your self-piety is at the expense of the apostles and prophets of the Messiah and at the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

  • @thesacredcowtipper

Jesus himself said keeping the commandments would save you. I find it funny that 2 Billion people who claim to follow Jesus yet reject his very teachings on the law and salvation.

And No I am not a christian. Christianity is a false religion and based upon pagan sun god worship and the writings of Paul of Tarsus. I do believe that Y'shua was the Messiah, but as a true follower of his (One who obeys his teachings) I could never be involved in christianity.

  • Did John the Baptist Come Preaching "Your Best Life Now"? Absolutely not, It was Jesus that preached your best life now. John was the man of Mosses' Law and Leviticus Law. John.1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John din't preach grace and truth, Jesus did.

  • This preacher say the clothing of John the Baptist has a meaning, it means earthly; girded by worldly things. John was a worldly man. Jesus his clothing was woven from the top throughout, from above, heavenly. Jesus said negative things about John like, He is a shaking reed. Notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John lived by the Law. Jesus by Grace and truth. Jesus fulfilled the LAW
