The red SS is cam/head/intake/weight reduction/geared LT1. 3.90 gears in the back, huge cam, a ton of parts removed for weight reduction, and the thing rolls out as you can tell from the video. My Z28 vert is significantly heavier than his car and is a cam-only LS2 T56 car, very impressed with the results of this one. This is 3rd and 4th gears.

  • @brapboys503 - good for him, but it doesn't matter if it can run a 250mph standing mile or run the quarter in 8 seconds, Hondas don't do anything for me. I am sure I can find videos of someone that's made an Aveo into a race car too, but I don't care its still an Aveo.

  • Also keep in mind, 100lbs is the equivalent of 0.1 seconds in the quarter mile, so him having 600lbs less than me is like taking off over a half of a second on his ET...in the quarter mile a half of a second is a LOT of distance (when racing something with a decent amount of hp, obviously racing two Hondas against each other a half second wont make much difference).

    One of the things hurting me in the race, other than a 600lb weight disadvantage, is I'm running a motor with a cam that loves compression, and I'm only giving it 10.6:1 and with a stock casting truck head. If I put some ported LS6 heads with shaved decks I'd probably gain upwards of 60-70hp at the wheels and this race would have ended MUCH differently. My car is tuned on the street, with HP Tuners and a very knowledgable tuner using it. LS7 intake wont work with my heads also

    @ v10viper04 - Honestly how many truly cam-only LS2's do you know that put down 420/407 at the wheels?

  • Not knocking the LT1, because it's going in my dads convertible 92 Camaro, but that motor has ported heads and intake, and a cam, electric water pump, AND we found out later he had a 600lb weight advantage over me lol. Mine is cam-only, full weight...

  • I'm not sure what you think is so funny, but you do realize that the LT1 is cam/heads/intake/geared/stripp­ed down, where as my (much) heavier convertible LS car is just cam-only? As in, stock unported heads, stock unported intake, stock unported throttle body, JUST a different cam. I even have stock gears for a T56 car.

  • @Deathryuu Yea, I got a coworker that just bought a new 5.0. I have a 95 Z28 with a few extras. Anyways he said my shit slow compared to the new 5.0 I left him from the light. I KNOW the 5.0 with mods would kick the shit outta me but I love the look on thier faces when they find out I got a little extra :) Looks BONE stock though

  • @bluezee28 Still the ls2 is so much more advanced than the lt1 even with ported heads, intake mani and 600lb weight reduct.. You port the heads in lt1 and put in new valve springs that are about equal to the same ones in the ls block plus the fact the ls2 is an cast aluminum block vs a cast iron block and the whole fuel injection and intake in the ls2 is much more efficient. Is the ls2 dyno tuned or even flash tuned? Have you thought about an ls7 intake mani.. with the cam it could work wonders.

  • So around how much did the completed LS2 swap cost? I am about to pick up a 84 28 w/ a built 350 along with the heads.. its clean as hell. Once it blows up I would rather pull it and drop and mod the LS2
