@MrHansMachine Yup! That's an M38- the short version like the M44 but minus the bayonet mount. I felt like I had to look high and low for it, but I finally got one! Good eye!

I remember the story from the podcast but it's a great reminder about awareness. It's also a good lesson to always have a plan of action wether it's a big event or just walking down a street.
Nice to see Ray's face. Is Grim going to be next? LOL.

I have thought of this scenario and a couple of ways I am prepared for it are as follows. I carry a knife in both of my front pockets, and I also have pepper spray on my keychain on my left side in the hand that would be free. You can check out my EDC video on my channel if you would like to see the setup. I like the idea of the fist bump and I will incorporate that into my box of tools as well. Thank you for the good video.
What holster is Ray carrying? Looks like some sort of Cross Breed.

@9fingers56 Ray is actually wearing my Raven Concealment in this video. I know I sound like a shill for them at times, but they don't pay me- their product really is just that good.

so i treat my nightstand gun as if it is loaded, an intruder breaks in, i try to fire but the gun is actually unloaded because i was working with it earlier then got distracted then put it back down on the nightstand - #1 is too simplistic, should be, "if the gun is supposed to be unloaded, make sure it is; if the gun is supposed to be loaded, make sure it is." such a simplistic #1 can get you or your family killed

@desirefirst You're right. Because of that example every firearm school nationwide who teaches Cooper's 4 rules should re-script it to longer, lengthier, and less succinct verbiage.
Or you could learn how to do a press check and make it habitual every time you're in or out of the holster. I'll stick with Rule #1 the way it's been taught for 50+ years by those who knew better than I.
But I'll make sure to tell Magpul, Thunder Ranch, GunSite, etc. you said they were wrong. ;) LOL.

how did it go, the end of the story, did he release your hand?

@PissDritt Turned out to be a total non-issue. Just one of those times that made me sit back and think, because it could have gone really sideways and I wanted to share it with you guys.
