Try standing out of the water in the "superman" position. Pull you shoulders and arms back and away from for chest so you can feel your chest muscles stretching (especially at the sternum). If you can create this same feeling in the water it should help you find your balance point, keeping your legs from sinking.

Thank you very much for the suggestion! Next time in the pool I'll try with the pull buoy.

Very nice glide, Shinji. Thanks for the video. Have a question: why do you separate the two hands? Why not one hand on top of the other (like in streamlined dolphin kicks), which I think would be more streamlined?
(btw I could do 12.5 yards one hand on top of the other. Hopefully can do 12.5 meter with practice :))

This is one of TI drills and it is closer to the freestyle position.

Excellent glide!! It's impossible for me...Whenever I push off the wall my legs tend to sink. I tried to press the chest but without success. Should I contract my abdomen? I'm quite muscular in shoulder and back, could this have negative effect on my buoyancy?? Thank a lot...

A 60 year old TI coach in Japan could glide for 12.5 meters. So it is based on skills. To make sure you release your head in the water is important. If you have a pull buoy, it is better idea to use it to know your flat position.
