TTM (turntablist transcription method) has been designed specifically for notating turntable-based music.
TTM is derived from a graph of the rotation of the record vs. time.
The vertical axis of the staff represents the rotation of the record, and the horizontal axis represents time...

  • I'm interested in starting to use some turntables but i don't really know much about how it all works apart from a few videos i've seen on youtube mainly rob swift ones which have been the best to help me understand. Can anyone give me any tips on what equipment i'll need to have a basic starting deck and what not and any tips on turntablism in general? I come from an area where this style of music isn't popular so it's hard to find anyone who can give me some tips. Thanks

  • @Schism54

fist, you can check easyttm-com : there's all about the method with a big part about tips and gear settings...

there's some website like studioscratches-com where you can learn many things with their video tutorials...

  • Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the track he is scratching over is from Q-berts Toasted Marshmello feet breaks.

  • @ssttoonneeyyyy you know 1 click and original flare was invented by a white dude. The most popular autobahn technique (rafiks autobahn) also invented by a white dude. 3 out of the last 4 DMC winners were white. The youngest DMC winner (a-trak) was white.

Please back your shit up before spitting ignorance

  • @prudiivhett thnx

  • this is funny , it comes natural to us black people , and the white people have to learn it by making diagram's .

  • @Golovolom87 superduck breaks

  • If you guys like this track, you should check out another Rob Swift track called "Dope on Plastic". Rob does a similar scratch routine on it.

  • And how who thinkin' 1:04-1:09 is it crab or two click flare?
