@NS9213 Well, you're right and wrong. Gillan had a short term with Sabbath as well in 1983, resulting in one album (Born Again) and an ill-fated tour with a massive prop of Stonehenge that never fit on any of the stages they played at. Though he is better described as the frontman for Purple, MultiMeglet is merely pointing out the irony of singing for both Black Sabbath and JCS.

My parents had a well-used original copy of this record---still do, actually. (It was missing the libretto, sadly). I grew up listening to it and loving it. I like the 1973 movie version too, but the 1970 album is on another level of awesome.
