There's a growing trend in the U.S.A. toward privatizing disaster relief. In light of the government's failures during and after Katrina, one may be inclined to welcome this. But look closer, and you see that the long-term results can be devastating.

UM. Most Firefighters are privately funded by insurance companies. Same with paramedics. Good the show btw, but I believe the answer to disaster relief is not in the feds but in our local and state agencies. The feds only make shit worse in Cali. we have always had fires and our people and benevolent neighbors have always handled it. We need stronger communities not a stronger big brother. And if I am wrong fundamentally or factually I am sorry, but that is just my 2 cents. Chris
