  • This is really good stuff. I don't do bjj but i do judo instead but the holds that you have in bjj are very similar if not the same to the holds in judo and im always having trouble with my ground work and these videos are extremely helpful especially since im going for my blue belt this term.

  • @surerchickgonemad Thank you. Since BJJ was born from Kodokan Judo, there are many similarities. Although both standing and ground techniques are equally important, due to the rules of each sport, Judo schools generally focus on standing techniques (tachi waza) and Jiu-Jitsu focuses on ne waza. Good luck with your training.

  • Great video!! It seems like i get stuck in side control alot w/ my neck cranked over... With more mat time i'm sure it will get a little easier to escape..

  • @jspeece87 You are correct. In time, you can't help but get better and gain confidence in your abilities. I can't promise it will get any easier :-) because of course it depends on how skilled your opponents are, but at least you'll have more skills to work your way out of tight spots. Keep up the training.

  • that man looked more than 16 year old but he is a yellow belt?

  • @yuenj01 Although the yellow belt is often used for the juvenile ranking system in BJJ, we use the yellow belt in between white and blue for adults. This works for our school since our juveniles start in our Judo program.

  • Thanks for this video, I love BJJ from underneath, maybe just a lazy roller. I have worked a lot these escapes, and have several of them work very well, in particular the grab the leg, hold out straight with an underhook. Though I've found you can also have the arm that would normally underhook, also just on the far side of their head - it seems to work a lot as well, and is less obvious. Thanks heaps.

  • @0.38 Jail Break!!

  • @eamesandrew Thank you. Good luck on your journey.

  • Good stuff. I like your technique where you gather his far knee for the kneeling take down! This will help me on my journey towards blackbelt. Thank you!
