yah thought about this too
do 1 hour every morning
and i just put my laptop besides me on a table or chair
bc if it was infront of me, i wouldnt be able to look at my hometrainer monitor
and i gotta tell u; after 20 minutes u start sweating
unless u want ur laptop to crash bc u got a glass of sweat seeping thru the keyboard, i sincerely advice against the laptop at such a oroximity of such a sweaty breathing slippery human. unless ofcourse u like ti have dripping wet fingertips on ur keys

I see a lot of comments claiming that if one is using a laptop while exercising, one is not exercising.
Are these people claiming that the use of a laptop allows one's muscles to violate the conservation of energy?

How true. For some reason people think that a big seat is more comfortable. It is for about 10 min then itchy.
Try a Spin Desk

Try a Spin Desk. It is a exercise bike with a laptop holder. Puts your arms in a resting position to allow fingers to reach keyboard.

You can get one that mounts to your bike for use in a trainer.
I have one and it is great!
