@hartimus92 I completely agree with you, as I'm sure many other American and other countries currently fighting the war on terror would. Sacrifice is a tough thing to deal with, and no family should ever have to go through it. War is a nasty thing my friend.

What i fail to see is how this song is supposed to shed light on supporting the troops. If you want to shed light on the subject use patriotism not garbage music and tears.

@hartimus92 I don't understand what you're trying to say. Are you saying the irish should return to ireland? Or the Soldiers return to america?
-
as an irish guy, i have to add that im not sure, but id say an awful lot of irish men fought the american revolution, and its those men who became citizens and their descendants who are still fighting these wars. i dont mean to offend anyone by the way, i fully support and utterly respect the american soldiers and their fight for freedom, but like many americans would feel, i think the time has come that these men are allowed home to their families, they have seen enough war.usa, home of bravery

Our active-duty military personnel have donated more to Ron Paul's campaign than to all other republican candidates COMBINED. If we really support our troops, we should elect the president they want, so they can come home.

@coolbeans22ful I could add that a majority of Irakis killed during this war were killed by other Irakis , throwing time bombs all over the place. As a french citizen, I hate all the anti american crap published on the internet, even if sometime I do not agree with the US policy. Let' s never forget that the US came three times to the rescue of Europe, in 1917, 1944, and during the cold war, in protecting us against Staline who wanted to invade us. To me, the US is my second country.

i plan on joining the army as soon as im done with high school.

@ibetteru2 And a lot of them are selfless because they put themselves in harm’s way to help or save another fellow Solder. You forget that troops fought to give you the right to say these things about them, not in this current war but in the American Revolution. The troops fighting in the current war are not fighting for our freedom or rights, but are fighting for others who cannot do it themselves. And that’s why they deserve respect!
