The early Muslims are credited with inventing distillation and could distil just about anything - from alcohol to perfume. Hygiene is very important in the Muslim world so they invented and manufactured soap - centuries before the West - and hundreds of bathhouses were built throughout Muslim cities. They understood the fundamentals of light and how we see, and gave us the camera obscura. They invented algebra and worked out the angle of the tilt of the earth. They built the first windmill, pioneered the concept of the crank rod, and designed the first ever torpedo. Muslim creativity also led to the invention of a unique instrument called the astrolabe -- it could find the direction of Mecca, tell the time and, with the help of the stars, navigate you across deserts and oceans. But perhaps most important of all they pursued the cause of knowledge, translating and preserving the works of the ancients and building the world's largest libraries -- their 'houses of wisdom'.

  • Non-Muslims are always quick to reject and 'dissprove' anything Muslims claim to be an invention made by the Muslims of old. I've seen this many times, people simply don't want to except that Islam (ie Muslims) has done anyhting good or had a major impact on the world. Which is interresting in itself. But to me it seems Muslims even had a bigger impact on the world. It's actually obvious when you look into it, but people keep denying.

  • very beautiful...it's really interesting

  • PROVES THOSE WRONG WHO SAY ISLAM IS BACWARDS ISLAM WAS REVLUTIONARY FROM THE BEGING

  • "qarn" in Arabic has two meanings: "horn" and "century". " Zol-qarnain " could literally mean in Arabic: "The man of two horns" or "The man of two centuries". This "one word having multiple meanings" but Cyrus Relief, in Pasargadae shows The man of two horns.

Cyrus is mentioned in the Old Testament and the Book of Ezra as a God-revering person, a description that matched the qualities of Zol-qarnain in the Qur'an.

  • I dont have time for this but this is just another part of the plagiarization of the Talmud & Bible, Mo hated Iran so to change the name & change he learned & plagiarized so it does not show that it was an Iranian had a lot to do with this.

in the Qur'an is said to have built a barrier of copper and iron after fighting the Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj people. Cyrus built a similar barrier in the Daryal Pass, the remains of which still exist.

  • This is what came in the quran about dhul qarnayn:

83.And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: "I shall recite to you something of his story."

    84. Verily, We established him in the earth, and We gave him the means of everything.

    85. So he followed a way.

    86. Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allh) said (by inspiration):

  • أَمَّا الْكَبْشُ الَّذِي رَأَيْتَهُ ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ فَهُوَ مُلُوكُ مَادِي وَفَارِسَ

Translation: The ram that you saw, the one with the horns, represents the kings of Media and Persia.

  • busy, you read a bunch of BS & you accept it. You think followers of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Genghis Khan had anything to say them. You are just a house slave an uncle Tom.

In Arabic translations of the Old Testament, the word "Dhul Qarnayn" Hebrew: Ba`al Haqqərānayim בעל הקרנים appears once in the Old Testament, in the Book of Daniel 8:20:

  • PS: Also, I wish you could tell me where I can find cyrus in t he Quran (Im sorry if this looked like a sarcastic comment but I assure u that it is not, I really want to know)

  • wassalam used to spend 3 months with no fire in the house ( i.e. no cooked food) while he had conquered almost the whole arab area; but if you will tell me that mullahs are the ones who are preaching these wrong facts that I wish I could know from where u , from ur side, get your facts.

    SIncerely
