@ishymuu The piece was originally a Catalan folk song that Miguel Llobet arranged. There are certain characteristics of Llobet's music that are evident in his arrangement, so his arrangement is considered an original composition in its own right. This is not so unusual; Bach didn't create the melodies for his chorales but they are still considered his compositions.

who wrote this piece?? Llobet??

how old is this vid? 50+?

Where did you find this recording? really old. Keep up the good job

i think you can blame him. disliking an entire genre is as ignorant as disliking an entire race or gender (segovia was a huge sexist, incidentally). every genre has at least a few artists with something really great to offer.

well said...im now starting to see why he was said to be the best, and still is.....for that i had to dig deep into the music he played....and compare it with others playing

Quin mestre!!!!

Sevovia is "hors catégorie". Nobody will ever come close to his playing in classical guitar; he belongs to the very rare artists who are "beyond" music.

I can play this piece quite well, but when I watch this video I realise I need a lot more practice !!

Yes!
Segovia disliked flamenco as well ..and you can't blame him.
But did Segovia had huge hands or what?
Looks like Segovia's Ramirez. I wonder though if that's some smashed-up flamenco guitars old Segovia has burning away in the fireplace there at the beginning ;)
