California schoolchildren dress as Native Americans

Schools in California dress up as Native Americans and Pilgrims for a holiday parade. Native Americans protest, stating that it's wrong. Thoughts?

The problem with little kids dressing up like this is that it teaches them that it's ok to do this, it teaches them the kind of thinking that it's not disrespectful when in fact it is. The reason that woman sees nothing wrong with it is because she's white and no one will ever disrespect her culture and they won't stereotype her race. That would be just as bad. I think it's pathetic that it is so acceptable for people to dress up as a Native American for halloween or festivities like these. I have noticed that it is mostly White people (in my experience) that have no idea or even thought that it is wrong. If you insert any other ethnicity it would of course seem racist and insensitive. People need to realize that.
