  • the shopping for weps is much better then one. here you see if the stats are going up or not

  • i NEED this song!!! who knows what the name is???

  • @atyanarata golden for busyness in pretty much all the world.

And i seriously doubt that would take more than a couple of people at most to get the thing going. A couple of people that can live in Japan for all that matter.

    ...

That and language translation. But even getting a English version readily avaliable worldwide would be enough for such a small company.

  • @thrash77581 The difference is mainly custumer-side because lets be honest, importing isn't impossible, but it's expensive AND a chore.

Maybe i didn't expresse myself correctly: having a UK/Europe subsidiary is the "old" way of doing it.

All they need to do is provide an efficient import service.

If THEY take care of all the import process, and I as a custumer all i have to do is select the product on the net, imput adress, give credic card payment, and get my item, then they are golden fo.

  • @atyanarata Isn't delivering goods to said region basically what you did--importing? How is that any different (besides the price and the fact that it doesn't show up in normal stores)?

There are probably reasons why it works the way it does--whether legal, financial or logistical. I don't think it's as simple as you imply to have products show up on shelves in different countries.

Most Japanese games that come out in the US and Europe are published/localized by different companies.

  • @thrash77581 That's the kind of reasoning that was justifed twenty years ago.

Nowdays with mondialisation and things like the internet there is no need to "open a UK/Europe subsidiary". The only thing needed is the ability to reliably deliver goods to said region.

Saddly, just as it is the case with the music industry, video game industry has a hard time making the transition and trys to cling to the old model more than reason warrants.

  • @atyanarata I don't think it's that easy--they'd have to open a branch in the UK, and that takes money. I don't know if they'd have to re-localize it or not, but they might.

They're a very small company. They have to minimize their risks, for example by making very small runs of games (which makes their games hard to find unless you buy them right away), and I guess they don't think starting a UK/Europe subsidiary is worth it at the moment.

I feel very sorry for you, though. :(

  • I gave up on waiting for it to finally reach Europe, and bought it on import.

I really don't see why the heck Atlus corp doesn't at least release an english version in england at the same time than in the USA...

Well, at least it'll keep me buisy until the 3 comes out (^_^)

  • Still waiting for the game too hit europe .

    Really enjoyed Etrian Odyssey I.
