  • From the Graveyard of the Arousal Industry is actually a textbook for one of my 400-level cult/eng courses this semester. It's fucking tight. Best prof ever. Ridiculously awesome courses always require fucktonnes of work though, but whatever; it's a 90s punk cultural studies class...labor of love, methinks. Rock on JP.

  • @wrarmatei THIS BLOWS OUR MINDS! Awesome to know.

  • both epitaph and three one g released this.

  • It is just everybodys close minded opinions, bands like Jesus Lizard, The Locust, Some Girls, Daughters etc. are so different than the mainstream media and it is something people are not used to hearing, so they either critique, or look down because it is not "pop culure"

  • Uh. First time hearing this. Buying the vinyl right now.

  • Sounds like the Butthole Surfers circa 1987. Although with less crack rocks involved, I assume.

  • It's difficult for people to appreciate the subtle genius of things like this.

  • monkeys are cute.

  • St David Yow pray for us and them. Great band

  • As an Australian, I really can't look at a San Diego mall without imagining Mega64 fucking shit up... It would make the second half of this video that much more entertaining

    good song btw lol

  • @blood4blood666 Good point, I listen to almost nothing but this type of music. I work with a lot of younger kids who are into the modern extreme movement of bands like Born Of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, Flesh God Apocalypse, etc., and any time I try to push some Locust or Sawtooth Grin or even Dillinger, they reject it. Whatever, as long as bands like this exist I can stay in my own groove. Speaking of Jesus Lizard, I have to recommend Scratch Acid to anyone who enjoys Lizard but is unaware of it.

  • @blood4blood666

stop pretending like the whole world is against you and your music. you probably look down on pop culture and mainstream media simply because of what they are and what they do.

  • @blood4blood666 whats sad is you'd probably just talk a bunch of shit on Hanatarash, The Gerogerigegege, Whitehouse, Smell & Quim, etc.

  • I don't know man. I think it goes all ways. People should like music for their own reasons. Forget the context in culture, if it appeals to you, listen to it. I love Jesus Lizard, The Locust and Daughters, but I also love Kanye West and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
