A tangible rhythm sequencer. Ball bearings are used to trigger (Roland TR-808) drum sounds. Visual feedback is provided from a CRT display underneath to indicate the current time and the state of each beat.

The BeatBearing was created as part of my PhD research in the Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC), at Queens University, Belfast. SARC's website is here:

@peterdbennett how much time do you use in the making of this? and how much would you think a novice will take to make one of those?

@jedipeludo It would take quite a while to make, but it all depends on what tools/facilities you have access to. Maybe a month or two months working on weekends would do it?
