If I'm thinking correctly, in the early episodes they drove a Plymouth.

From the first episode noticed a Rambler car parked promently ,usually a brown 2 door model then an American model,a station wagon,now I am aware that a lot of other makes appear to but since I like AMC cars they just stand out,and this was before the series used the Matador as the squad car. Pete even 'owned' a 2 door Matador,he went from the Mustang rag top to that AMC.also noticed a fair amount of AMC's in Dragnet.Wonder if Jack Webb liked AMC's and used them for his shows.hmm

early product placement? maybe he was getting paid?

I knew they show ran a long time since they were driving the AMC, but *7 years*?? WOW! And Retro Television Network (RTV) only shows a handful of mixed-season episodes. No justice.

This show was the best. What ever happened to california? We used to respect the police here when i was a kid. You Did not run from them like they do now, because when they caught you, you got ur ass beat!...lol The liberals got the l.a.p.d. they always wanted, Cant pull over minorities, and cant kick ass. Thank you maxine waters and barbara boxer. Now look at your f-up city. Are you happy now?
