Feel free to try 'The Gimp', a free application for both PC and Mac that resembles most of Photoshop's functionality.

Great tutorial, really nice text effect. But you talk and do things a bit too fast, no it's pretty hard for people who's new to Photoshop, including me ;P I had to rewind back many times to get what you were saying x) But anyways, thanks for a great tut :)
