Congressman Ted Poe of District 2 and Congressman Brady are joined by physicians who have invested in the creation of a 50 bed community hospital in Poe's district to address the possible stoppage of the project due to the new health care bill. Like the previous H.R 3200 put forth in July, the new bill contains a provision that prevents doctor-owned/financed hospitals from operating if they did not obtain a Medicare number by January 1 of this year. The provision would close some 40 hospitals in Texas alone, resulting in the loss of up to 50,000 jobs.
