From the shore, views of boats on the Sumida River, as well as a couple of old steel bridges and surrounding office buildings. Since it was Saturday, the area was nearly deserted. There are several new buildings in the area - buildings of this size (10-15 stories), taking less time and money to put up than 50-story high-rises, were the first effect of the bubble economy. People often fail to realize that while the many 50-story category high-rise buildings now scattered about Tokyo were *planned* in the bubble years, at the time, they were busier knocking down old buildings to make way to the huge new ones. There is much more to say about this, but not enough space here.

I'm happy to hear that you liked that view of the water - I was thinking I put in too long of a view of that. At the time, I was quite taken with the way the sun was reflecting off of so many different points.... - LHS

I like the Chinese boats on the water.
The shot of the water is beautiful!
Thanks again.

My reply wasn't too long, but there must be some combination of words in it that is causing it to be black-holed. I was just trying to say that the river is cleaner than it used to be, but still isn't perfect. - LHS
