  • You are right, actually this set of "genes" appeared in the first generation, so they are actually random values, but they were the best through all the evolution process

  • Looks interesting - any background information of paper available? I guess the crucial part is how much work the GA actually had to do to achieve the results shown (i.e. size of searchspace, degrees of freedom,..)
