  • i sort of see the problem. maybe if we plant more crop, plants, and vegitation, we would feed the planet the earth for our future. i am not a meat fan anyway but i am not seeing yet why meat in the food consumption would do anything to help our planet. wouldnt there be mass overcrowding of the planet. and causing mass extinction of important species. forgive me if i sound nieve.

  • You are not naive, it is a question many people ask. Billions of cattle are raised and slaughtered every day for food. So if we stop eating them they will naturally reduce. Cows pigs etc wouldn't be forced to get pregnant and have so many calf's or piglets etc so it will naturally return to a normal quantity of sheep, pigs, cows etc. Living things maintain a natural ecological balance and this will happen naturally when we stop eating them.

  • The space used to grow the amount of food that they use to feed animal for many months (18-36 months) could feed a person for many years. 10 billion factory farm animals in the US alone eat much more vegetables then needed for every US citizen. For each day a family of 3 goes without eating meat enough water is saved for a single person to drink the rest of their life.

  • Then added to that you have the deforestation, the fresh clean water they are given, the vaccine's they are given, the contamination they cause to water, refrigeration, transportation and all the other practices involved in this carbon intensive industry.

  • @SupremeMasterTV But this argument can be applied to the eating of vegetables and other grown produce, we intensively farm land, pump out vast quantities of pesticides and other chemicals in order to grow these foods, and use large amounts of fuel to transport and store them. These foods are just as costly to produce as livestock.

  • Thank you SMTV

  • I love cows moooooOOOO ...why eat?

    I'll stick to my veggies.

  • Cows burp up 300 litres of methane a day. We have always had these gases around, but they haven't been much of a worry until we started abusing the planet. Choosing a vegan diet is not just to save the planet, but because it is having compassion for every living thing. Every action has a consequence. So to touch the grace of God we must stop killing and eating animals. That is not what they were put here for. They were put here to befriend us and help us, not to end up on our plate as food.

  • But Methane is also produced by rotting plants, human flatuence, and all kinds of decomp happening in the bottom of our oceans.

  • Yes they would, you are correct. But the big difference is that there wouldn't be anywhere near as many as there are in the world right now. There are more cattle than humans on this planet right now and that's why we face the problem we are facing.
