Boeing 757 Emergency Landing & Emirates A380 Landing in LAX

Smoke in the cabin forced American Airlines Boeing 757 back to LAX after it departed three hours earlier. Minutes after the emergency landing, an Emirates A380 landed on the runway parallel to the one where the B757 landed.

I doubt its anything major. Sometimes the air conditioning system pulls in smells from the engines. Especially after servicing the aircraft, odors can be generated from excess oil or other fluid on hot equipment..
