Ottoman classical music (Klâsik Türk Mûsikîsi, Sanat Mûsikîsi, Saray Mûsikîsi) developed in palaces, mosques, and Mevlevi lodges of the Ottoman Empire. Above all a vocal music, Classical Turkish Music traditionally accompanies a solo singer with a small instrumental ensemble. In recent times instruments might include tanbur lute, ney flute, kemençe fiddle, keman Western violin, kanun zither, or other instruments. Sometimes described as monophonic music, the variety of ornamentation and variation in the ensemble requires the more accurate term heterophonic.
Dare I spare a breath to ask how the Ottoman Empire really was?

Now many Turkish generals, who are against American plans, are in jail after "Ergenekon Investigation" because US considered them as a threat. This opeation, in the name of "democrasy" was just done to weaken Turkish Army. In Turkey, not the army, but the politicians collabrate and do whatever US wants. This is the rule.

But after Cold War, the tension btw US &Turkish Army increased. Because the politics of US, its plans to change the borders of Middle East countries and to establish a Kurdish State in Irak was apperantly conflicting with Turkey's benefits. Also US supports PKK terrorism in Turkey, and Turkish Army is fighting against PKK for years. "Anti-USA" inclinations within army became very strong.

There have been different opinions and cliques in Turkish Army. The coups in 1971 and 1980 were done by the generals supported by US. But one of the reasons of the coup in 1960 was partially that soldiers were irritated of being close to US during Menderes period. After Turkey became a member of NATO due to a virtual communism threat, army became closer to US and its structure started changing especially during Cold War.

@yeserin83 yeah, too often people think ideologies in war hold any water when it has and always been about more practical reasons. It's just that existing ideologies become good excuses when the economical need shows up.
"Ah infidels, don't want to do anything with them."
"Ah infidels, let's go to their homes and pillage and take their lands."

@yeserin83 what? I thought the secular military in Turkey wanted to establish good relations with USA, even if they have to hold the Turkish civilians at gunpoint to "persuade" them.

@efeorh well said, it is a fact that so many ppl no matter what religion they end up in, end up becoming just a popularist and think like a mob, not even realizing they are mistaking the power of the mob as a whole for their own powers and affording to become aggressive against outsiders, but never having any introspect. It has always been a groupthink mindset for any people, whether in religious groups or secular groups.

@sabaqat Infidel, kafr, nonbeliever... same thing. It doesn't make me muslim to call non-muslims as non-muslims. I was wondering where you had the idea about communism etc. it's just that I like their music. :) One day I listen to Red Army Choir, other day nazi music, other day to nasheed. Music is music I like all kind that's sung with strong spirit :). Tsk tsk I better delete these activity broadcast on my profile. Curious people get wrong ideas!

@sabaqat I got nothing new to say to this. Same as my old comment. Maybe we can add you have chronic schizophrenia. Even when you say worst sinner among Muslims is better than me you're doing shirk. Because, only Allah knows who is good and who is bad. Have you not been taught such things? You don't even know who the hell I am. That everyday I convice infidels that muslims are not evil even though I'm not muslim. For that reason, I'm a perfect representative. Not muslim but for the good
