This film looks like a good companion to a history/religious studies book by a UVM author, that book was called "The Twisted Cross".

Friedrich von Bodelschwingh, Junior and Dietrich Bonhoeffer would say that the Deutsche Christen pressure group led by Reichbishop Muller and orchestrated by the totaliarian interests of the Nazis party itself, meant that Hitler was not only interested in the mainstream religion of the German people but also willing to pervert it to his own ends.
