to be honest a higher priced bass guitar does not necessarily mean a better instrument. Sometimes your just paying for the brand name. Personally When I buy basses i look for the pickups. The pick up quality makes a huge difference. I dont really care too much what type of wood it is made out of either...as long as it isnt particle board haha. When you get into shit like mahogany your paying out the ass for an instrument and it doesnt add much more sustain
