Such a great tune this is, composed by Joseph Colombo and Tony Murena. Despite its description as a "Valse Musette," I'm using the French Jazz bassoon setting as well as the traditional musette accordion sounds. As always, the sounds you hear are those available as onboard voices of the Roland FR-7x V-Accordion.

Settings:
Bass: Jazz Acoustic Bass with Folk Bass Drum percussion.
Chords: Jazz Acoustic Accordion Bass with Shaker & Jazz High-hat percussion.
Treble:
French Jazz Acoustic Accordion, Bassoon Reed
I-Folk Acoustic Accordion Reeds (8', 8+, 8-)

If you are interested in purchasing a collection of 13 sets created for the Roland 7x, please email me. The sets include a variety of styles including Italian, German, French, Country, Rock, Latin, Big Band, Orchestral, and several all-purpose sets--with and without rhythms. The sets have been painstakingly developed over a period of months. Programming instruction is also available.

  • I played as a kid, but just bought a Weltmeister Diana and took up the playing again. I'm right now trying to locate about 50 of the accordion youtubers videos to burn on disc. I'm VERY picky, to say the least. I will invite my old man to join me one night and watch these videos together. We both love accordion.

I have to say that this very video is right now on top of the list. I must have watched it over 50 times. You are so talented and play so tasteful I get shivers inside my body.

  • Thanks for your comments, especially the one about shivering! It's become one of my favorites. I have made a few changes in how I play it--actually, I seem to change something about it nearly every week, so it would be a bit different if I recorded it today. Hopefully a bit better, but one never knows.

    Thanks

  • Tony,

For this version I am using the jazz accordion bass and chord--these are reeds I didn't initially like, but decided to try them because they have a distinct sound. More specifics of the settings I used are in my extended description above.

  • Thank you so much for posting. Thanks for sharing the settings. Great presentation and performance.

  • Thanks, Rich.

I agree it's helpful to know what settings 7x users are employing. Silvia is the one who does so most consistently and thoroughly.
