Now Ronnie and Neil became good friends their feud was just in song
Skynyrd was a bunch of Neil Young fans and Neil he loved that song
So He wrote "Powderfinger" for Skynyrd to record
But Ronnie ended up singing "Sweet Home Alabama" to the lord

And Neil helped carry Ronnie in his casket to the ground
And to my way of thinking, us southern men need both of them around

be careful who you make that AC/DC comment around-(i feel the same-but i love the stuff with Bon Scott now)...you can only expect a band to put out albums this good for so long...2 or 3 years tops-thats why the great ones are so special-"Decoration Day" is out of the park as well-and "Alabama Ass whippin"is a poorly mixed and recorded live album-but the songwriting and the energy is awesome...

I agree. I remember Patterson saying a few years ago that he thought he was done writing songs about the south cuz he thought he had said all there was to say. Nearly all bands evolve somewhat. Unless it's AC/DC.
